Το Μεγάλο Μωσαϊκό
Το Μεγάλο Μωσαϊκό είναι ένα πρότζεκτ της Πολιτιστικής Πρωτεύουσας ΠΑΦΟΣ2017 το οποίο παρουσιάζεται σε μία έκθεση που θα διαρκέσει από τις 10 μέχρι τις 30 Μαΐου 2017, στο Χάνι του Ιμπραήμ στο κέντρο της πόλης.
Η έκθεση επιχειρεί να λειτουργήσει ως μια αποδομημένη αναπαράσταση του κοινωνικού προσώπου της Πάφου. Ξεκινώντας από την πρόταση ότι η Πάφος είναι ένα μεγάλο μωσαϊκό και οι άνθρωποί της οι ψηφίδες που το συνθέτουν, μια ομάδα από 12 καλλιτέχνες δημιούργησε έργα βασισμένα σε προσωπικές αφηγήσεις ανθρώπων που ζουν, ζούσαν ή είχαν μια σχέση με την πόλη της Πάφου σε κάποια στιγμή της ζωής τους.
Αναμνήσεις από τη ζωή τους, από τη χώρα όπου γεννήθηκαν, από την οικογένεια τους, παραμύθια που ξέρουν, ιστορίες που άκουσαν, κουτσομπολιά κλπ. Πόσες και ποιες ιστορίες μπορεί μια πόλη να φιλοξενήσει;
Η εκθεση είναι ένα μωσαϊκό των έργων που δημιουργήθηκαν, ένα μωσαϊκό δημιιουργών, ένα μωσαϊκό φωνών και προσώπων.
Παραγωγοί και διοργανωτές είναι η Πολιτιστική Πρωτεύουσα της Ευρώπης ΠΑΦΟΣ2017 σε συνεργασία με το Κέντρο Τεχνών Κίμωνος και την Εθνική Ανώτατη Σχολή Καλών Τεχνών του Παρισιού.
The Big Mosaic
The Big Mosaic is a project of the European Capital of Culture PAFOS2017 presented in an exhibition that lasts from the 10th to the 30th of May 2017, in Ibrahim's Khan in the Center of the town.
The exhibition attempts to function as a deconstructed representation of the social portrait of Pafos. Starting by the proposition that Pafos is a big mosaic and people are the chippings that compose it, a group of artists created a series of artworks inspired by the narrations of personal stories by people who live, have lived or were in relation with the town of Pafos at some point in their life.
Memories of their lives, of the country they were born, of their families, fairy tales they know, stories they heard, gossip etc. How many and what kind of stories can a city host?
The exhibition is a mosaic of the artworks created, a mosaic of artists, a mosaic of voices and a mosaic of people.
The producer is the European Capital of Culture PAFOS2017 in partnership with the Kimonos Art Center and the National Superior Fine Arts School of Paris.

Projection Mapping Presentation with Josef Kortan (Czech Rep.)
Projection mapping gives the artist the possibility to create illusions of deconstruction and redefinition of physical shapes, right in front of your eyes. It is a technical process, wrapping projected virtual content around a real world object, much like a second skin of light. The workshop will be a comprehensive introduction to the tools and methods to create these illusions, as well as an approach to ideas and concepts for such projects.
The workshop intends to give the participants an overview of the different possibilities to create a 3D – live installation through the technique called “projection mapping”. It will cover various options of how to create content (both pre-produced and in realtime) and how to apply it on an object using various mapping methods.
Josef Kortan (graduate of Computer Graphics and Interaction at CTU in Prague) is a Czech programmer and visual artist, co-founder BLACK/DIVISION group and from 2016 he is part on the INITI group.

Kurdish Director Mazin Sherabayani presents his documentary SAMA
Kurdish-Iraqi Director Mazin Sherabayani will talk about his documentary SAMA (Dance). Sama is an official selection of PIFF and it will be screened on June 17th.
SAMA is a documentary about Robar and her family who are determined to establish a professional ballet dance group in Iraq, despite the threats, lack of funds and a place to practice. Can hope and passion overcome fear and narrow mindedness?
Mazin will be accompanied by his director of photography Arian Salih.

Ο Κουρδο-ιρακινός σκηνοθέτης Mazin Sherabayani θα μιλήσει για το ντοκιμαντέρ του ‘Sama’ (Χορός). Η ταινία ‘Sama’ είναι μια επίσημη επιλογή του PIFF και θα προβληθεί στις 17 Ιουνίου.
To ‘Sama’ είναι ένα ντοκιμαντέρ για τον Robar και την οικογένειά του, που είναι αποφασισμένοι να δημιουργήσουν μια επαγγελματική ομάδα χορού μπαλέτου στο Ιράκ παρά τις απειλές, την έλλειψη κονδυλίων και τον χώρο για εξάσκηση. Μπορεί η ελπίδα και το πάθος να ξεπεράσουν το φόβο σε μια τέτοια αυστηρή κοινωνία;

Discussion with film director Peter Stephanou
Film director, Peter Stephanou presents his film 'WhyTalkFeminism?', and will hold an open discussion about the highs and lows of documentary filmmaking. He will offer an insight into the process of filming with no budget, the accessibility of filmmaking today, and will give advice on where and how to begin. This personal insight into his filmmaking experience will reveal how his passion for film led him onto winning the audience award at the Paphos International Film Festival in 2016.

Ο σκηνοθέτης Πήτερ Στεφάνου παρουσιάζει την ταινία του "WhyTalkFeminism?", σε μια ανοιχτή συζήτηση για τα θετικά αλλά και τις δυσκολίες μιας παραγωγής ντοκιμαντέρ. Θα συζητήσει τη διαδικασία παραγωγής ταινιών χαμηλού προϋπολογισμού, την προσβασιμότητα του κινηματογράφου σήμερα, και θα δώσει συμβουλές για το πώς μπορεί κάποιος να ξεκινήσει. Η προσωπική του εμπειρία και το πάθος του για τον κινηματογράφο τον οδήγησε να κερδίσει το βραβείο κοινού στο Διεθνές Φεστιβάλ Κινηματογράφου Πάφου, το 2016.

Janus
Janus is a musical composition for violin and cello accompanied by an animated film combined with video art, projected on an on-stage installation. The project uses the Khan as an allegory for the political and social reality of Cyprus. It stands for the coexistence between the Turkish Cypriot and Greek Cypriot communities, as well as the desire for this state of affairs to return. This audiovisual presentation focuses on the Khan and its transition from a meeting point to a deserted site and the possibility of it returning to its original state. The different forms of art employed and combined in the project function as a metaphor for the possibility of the co-existence between people of a different background -a possibility of which the Khan is one of the strongest symbols.

Το Janus είναι μια μουσική σύνθεση για βιολί και βιολοντσέλο, που συνοδεύεται από την προβολή animation σε συνδυασμό με video art, σε μια εικαστική εγκατάσταση επί σκηνής.
Το έργο μελετά το Χάνι ως αλληγορία της πολιτικής και κοινωνικής πραγματικότητας που καθιστούσε, άλλοτε, τη συνύπαρξη των δύο κοινοτήτων δυνατή. Σε αυτό το πλαίσιο, η επαναλειτουργία του Χανιού ως χώρου συνάντησης μπορεί να συμβάλει και στην επούλωση των πληγών και τη γεφύρωση του χάσματος.
Το σύνολο της οπτικοακουστικής παρουσίασης μελετά σε πολλά επίπεδα τη μετάβαση του Χανιού (ως συμβόλου) από χώρο συνάντησης σε ερειπωμένο κτίσμα και, από εκεί, διερευνά την επανεκκίνησή του η οποία ελευθερώνει, ακριβώς, τη δυνατότητα της συνύπαρξης. Μάλιστα, η συνύπαρξη των διαφόρων τεχνών στα πλαίσια του project λειτουργεί ως καθρέφτισμα της δυνατότητας για τη συνύπαρξη ανθρώπων από διαφορετικό πολιτιστικό υπόβαθρο – μια δυνατότητα που προσφέρει το Χάνι στον βαθμό που είναι λειτουργικό και ανοικτό.

Exhibition "Confrontation through Art - Remix"
Το δικοινοτικό πρόγραμμα «Confrontation through Art», που χορηγήθηκε από την Ευρωπαϊκή Ένωση και υλοποιήθηκε από Ελληνοκύπριους και Τουρκοκύπριους καλλιτέχνες και επιμελητές (Λευκωσία 2014-2017), έχει τη χαρά να σας προσκαλέσει στα εγκαίνια της τελικής του έκθεσης «CtA - REMIX» στην γκαλερί του Τεχνόπολις 20, Πάφος, την Τετάρτη, 27 Σεπτεμβρίου 2017, ώρα 19:30.
Η έκθεση παρουσιάζει μια πλούσια επιλογή εικαστικών έργων (ζωγραφικής, γλυπτικής, εγκατάστασης, video-art) που δημιουργήθηκαν από Κύπριους και Ευρωπαίους καλλιτέχνες που συμμετείχαν σε πέντε διαφορετικά προγράμματα 10-ήμερης ομαδικής φιλοξενίας/έρευνας/εργασίας καλλιτεχνών (residencies) που διοργάνωσε το Confrontation through Art.
Συνολικά 40 Ευρωπαίοι καλλιτέχνες/επιμελητές, με τη συμμετοχή 16 Ελληνοκυπρίων/Τουρκοκυπρίων, φιλοξενήθηκαν σε τρία art-residencies στη παλιά Λευκωσία, ένα στην Αθήνα και ένα στο Βερολίνο. Το κυπροκεντρικό σκεπτικό των art-residencies ενέπνευσε τους εικαστικούς για έρευνα και έκφραση, αναδεικνύοντας το αισθητικό, βιωματικό και εξελικτικό αποτέλεσμα στην πράξη, μέσα από τα προσωπικά όρια και οράματα των ίδιων των καλλιτεχνών.
Η έκθεση CtA – REMIX αντανακλά ένα πραγματικό remix εμπειριών, στοχασμών, προκλήσεων, δράσεων και συζητήσεων μέσω του προγράμματος του Confrontation through Art, που αναδόμησε
και εστίασε στην αντιπαράθεση εικαστικών και κοινωνικών συλλογισμών μέσω της τέχνης. Ταυτόχρονα, προσφέρει ένα αυτόνομο έκθεμα με κοινωνικό και καλλιτεχνικό νόημα στο κοινό.
Παράλληλα στην έκθεση παρουσιάζεται ο τρι-γλωσσος (Ελληνικά, Τούρκικα, Αγγλικά) κατάλογος του προγράμματος Confrontation through Art, έκδοσης Ιουνίου 2017, με αναλυτικά σημειώματα,
σκεπτικά επιμελητών, κριτικά κείμενα μελετητών και πληθώρα φωτογραφικού υλικού που καλύπτουν όλες τις δράσεις του προγράμματος, για δωρεάν διάθεση.
Τα πέντε προγράμματα φιλοξενίας εικαστικών αποτέλεσαν μέρος του ευρύτερου δικοινοτικού προγράμματος Confrontation through Art / Αντιπαράθεση μέσω Τέχνης / Sanat aracılığıyla Yüzleşme που εφάρμοσαν οι ΜΚΟ EMAA και ROOFTOP theatre group και το οποίο στηρίχθηκε και χρηματοδοτήθηκε από την Ευρωπαϊκή Ένωση - Σχέδιο Ενίσχυσης της Κοινωνίας των Πολιτών.
Στο Πρόγραμμα Δράσης. Σημαντικός πυλώνας του προγράμματος ήταν η προώθηση της ειρηνικής συνύπαρξης, διαλλακτικότητας και δημιουργικής ευαισθητοποίησης ανάμεσα στους καλλιτέχνες και
τις κοινότητες της Κύπρου. Εστίασε στη γνωριμία και ανάπτυξη νέων και ώριμων εικαστικών, επιμελητών και μελετητών, με συζήτηση του κυπριακού διαχωρισμού και άλλων συναφών
κοινωνικών προβλημάτων.

Exhibition “Confrontation through Art – REMIX”
The Bi-communal project “Confrontation through Art”, funded by the European Union and realized by Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot artists and curators (Nicosia 2014-2017), has the pleasure of inviting you to the opening of its final exhibition «CtA - REMIX» at
Technopolis 20 gallery, Paphos, on Wednesday, 27 th of September 2017, at 19:30.
The exhibition presents a rich selection of visual artworks (painting, sculpture, installation,video-art) created by Cypriot and European artists who participated in five different 10-day group art-residencies for research and work, organized by Confrontation through Art.
In total 40 European artists / curators, including 16 Greek Cypriots and Turkish Cypriots, were hosted in three art-residencies in old Nicosia, one in Athens and one in Berlin. The Cyprus-centred concept of the art-residencies inspired the artists to research and self-express, highlighting their aesthetic, experiential and evolutionary results in practice, within their own personal scope and vision.
CtA – REMIX is a true remix of experiences, reflections, challenges, actions and discussions, given as feedback to the CtA programme, restructured and refocused on the juxtaposition of visual and social deliberations through art. At the same time it creates an autonomous exhibit providing social and artistic meaning to the public.
Alongside the exhibition, the tri-lingual catalogue (Greek, Turkish, and English) is presented, published in June 2017, including analytical notes, curatorial concepts, critical scholarly texts and a multitude of photographic material covering all the actions of Confrontation through Art programme, offered free of charge.
The five art-residencies formed part of the broader bi-communal project Confrontation through Art / Αντιπαράθεση μέσω Τέχνης / Sanat aracılığıyla Yüzleşme which was developed and implemented by NGOs European Mediterranean Art Association (EMAA) and
Rooftop Theatre Group and funded by the European Union under the Cypriot Civil Society in Action programme.
The project aimed to contribute to the enhancement of peaceful co-
existence, tolerance and creative problem-solving awareness and skills within artistic circles and other diverse segments of the Cypriot communities. It focused on bringing together young and mature artists to discuss, produce and express views on the Cyprus problem and related social challenges.
The CtA - Remix exhibition is supported by the NGOs EMAA and ROOFTOP Theatre group, and the Cultural Services of the Republic of Cyprus.

Recover - Street Art in Chernobyl by Bane&Pest
The Kimonos Art Center presents the documentary : "RECOVER - Street Art in Chernobyl", part of the events of StreetArt Square Festival, of the European Capital of Culture PAFOS2017.
Bane&Pest, a swiss-cypriot streetart collective based in Chur. Switzerland, are travelling with fifty kilograms of spray paint to Chernobyl in order to paint the first legally approved painting in that area.
About the project:
The adventurous journey brings them by night-train from Sargans to Budapest, from Budapest to Kiev and by an old VW surf bus right to Chernobyl. This place where thirty years ago the worst nuclear disaster happened and seventy thousand people had to leave their homes. Despite a careful preparation everything comes out differently.
With the help of a clever guide who knows the place well, the artists are searching for the most interesting spot for their painting. While doing that they can see what this magical place is all about.
After the screening tha artists will be having a discussion with the public.

Celebrating the International Animation Day
The Animattikon Project invites Pan, Whirl-dos and Laurie Isle (aka Spivak), members of the music collective and record label Honest Electronics to celebrate the International Animation Day at ANANAs 8Bit Coffee, on Saturday, 28th of October 2017, at 8pm. Pan and Whirl-dos will attempt to match and interpret in musical terms the projection of a compilation of history’s first animated movies. They will combine explorative and cinematic records and ambient aiming soundscapes. The program is composed by two sets of 20 minutes. A party will follow, during which Laurie Isle will play cross-genre selections.

Ακολουθεί πάρτυ κατά τη διάρκεια του οποίου η Laurie Isle θα προτείνει μια μουσική επιλογή που καλύπτει ένα μεγάλο φάσμα ειδών.

Halloween Special Screening
The Animattikon Project organizes, on the occasion of the Halloween, a special screening with short animated horror films at ANANAs 8Bit Coffee, on Tuesday, 31st of October at 8pm. 8 films will be screened, thanks to their directors’ generosity. The programming lasts 40 minutes. A Halloween party will follow.

Character Design Workshop
Το The Animattikon Project φιλοξενεί την animator Παναγιώτα Μιχαήλ που διοργανώνει ένα εργαστήρι σχεδιασμού χαρακτήρων cartoons για παιδιά, με θέμα τους χαρακτήρες από τη Μυθολογία της Πάφου.
Το εργαστήρι θα λάβει χώρα στο Κέντρο Τεχνών Κίμωνος στις 29 Οκτωβρίου 2017, Κυριακή, από τις 10πμ μέχρι τις 12μμ.
Το εργαστήρι απευθύνεται σε παιδιά ηλικίας από 8 μέχρι 12 ετών.

The Animattikon Project hosts animator Panagiota Michael who organizes a character design workshop for children.
The workshop’s subject will be the characters of the Mythology of Pafos.
The workshop will take place at the Kimonos Art Center on Sunday, 29th of October 2017, from 10am to 12pm.
It is addressed to children of the ages from 8 to 12.

Nicos Synnos: Research and Experiments in Animation Narrative
The Animattikon Project invites animator Nicos Synnos for the presentation "La Soupe: Applying animation research and experimentation to narrative".
By experiments on ways of compositing the filmic time and the film frame, Nicos Synnos' research aims to discover alternative ways of producing illusions of motion as viewing experience.
Some of these experiments are applied on his latest animation film “La Soupe” where a relation between the medium and the scenario is developed.

Με πειραματισμούς πάνω στους τρόπους της σύνθεσης του κινηματογραφικού χρόνου και του καρέ μιας ταινίας, οι έρευνες του Νίκου Σύννου αποσκοπούν στο να ανακαλύψουν εναλλακτικούς τρόπους για τη δημιουργία της ψευδαίσθησης της κίνησης ως οπτικής εμπειρίας.
Κάποια από αυτά τα πειράματα εφαρμόζονται στην τελευταία του ταινία animation με τίτλο "La Soupe", όπου αναπτύσσεται μια σχέση ανάμεσα στο μέσο και το σενάριο.

Η Ιστορία του Διεθνούς Φεστιβάλ Animation Όψεις του Κόσμου
Το The Animattikon Project προσκαλεί το Γιώργο Τσαγγάρη, εμπνευστή και καλλιτεχνικό Διευθυντή του πρώτου Φεστιβάλ Animation της Κύπρου, για μια παρουσίαση της ιστορικής διαδρομής του φεστιβάλ, που γεννήθηκε το 2002 στην Κυπριακή Ύπαιθρο και έκτοτε διαδίδει το ανεξάρτητο σινεμά Animation σε ολόκληρη την Κύπρο.
Το Φεστιβάλ τα τελευταία χρόνια απέκτησε μια σημαντική θέση στην διεθνή κοινότητα και προβάλλει το έργο των Κύπριων δημιουργών πλάι σε κορυφαίες διεθνείς ανεξάρτητες παραγωγές. Στο πλαίσιο του Φεστιβάλ λειτουργούν εργαστήρια και masterclasses από καταξιωμένους διεθνείς καλλιτέχνες καθώς επίσης και εκθέσεις και αφιερώματα σε σύγχρονους masters της εποχής μας.
Ο καθοριστικός ρόλος του φεστιβάλ στην ανάπτυξη της τέχνης του ανεξάρτητου σινεμά animation, αλλά και της ιδέας της πολιτιστικής αποκέντρωσης, συνέβαλε στο να δημιουργηθεί μια νέα κουλτούρα καλοκαιρινών φεστιβάλ στον τόπο μας, που ανέδειξαν και αναδεικνύουν το έργο πολλών Κυπρίων και ξένων δημιουργών καθώς επίσης και τον πολιτισμικό πλούτο της Κυπριακής υπαίθρου.
To Διεθνές Φεστιβάλ του Σινεμά Animation στην Ύπαιθρο συνδιοργανώνουν οι μη κερδοσκοπικοί οργανισμοί Φεστιβάλ Όψεις του Κόσμου και το Μουσείον Χαρακτικής Χαμπή. Πρόκειται για το επίσημο φεστιβάλ animation της Κύπρου και διοργανώνεται υπό την στήριξη των Πολιτιστικών Υπηρεσιών του Υπουργείου Παιδείας και Πολιτισμού της Κυπριακής Δημοκρατίας και της ASIFA Κύπρου, του Διεθνούς Οργανισμού Animation της UNESCO.
The Animattikon Project invites Yiorgos Tsangaris, the artistic director of the first Animation Festival of Cyprus, to present the history of the festival, which was created in 2002, in Cyprus' countryside and has, ever since, promoted the independent animation scene throughout Cyrpus.
The Festival has a very important position in the international community and promotes the work of Cypriot animators along important international independent productions. In the framework of the festival, workshops and various masterclasses are organized every year, as well as exhibitions by acclaimed artists.
The defining role that the festival has played in the development of the art of independent animation, but also of the idea of cultural decentralisation, has contributed to the creation of a new culture of summer festivals in Cyprus, which showcase the work of Cypriot and foreign creators.
The International Animation Festival in the Countryside is organized by the non for profit organizations "Festival Views of the World" and the Engraving Museum of Hampis. It is the official animation festival of Cyprus and is organized with the support of the Cultural Services of the Ministry of Culture and the ASIFA Cyprus, the international Organisation for Animation of UNESCO.

Συναυλία Στέλιου Χατζηκώστα
Το The Animattikon Project εγκαινίαζει το τριήμερο των επίσημων προβολών του με μια συναυλία του Στέλιου Χατζηκώστα. Ο τραγουδοποιός θα παρουσιάσει ένα χαρακτηριστικό δείγμα της προσωπικής του δουλειάς των τελευταίων δέκα χρόνων. Θα τον συνοδέυσει επί σκηνής ο Χρυσόστομος Κέλης στις κιθάρες και το μπουζούκι. Τη μουσική θα συνοδεύει live animation από τον Χαράλαμπο Μαργαρίτη. H συναυλία θα λάβει χώρα στο Αττικόν, την Παρασκευή 3 Νοεμβρίου 2017, ώρα 8μμ.
Η είσοδος είναι δωρεάν.
The Animattikon Projects inaugurates its official screening weekend by presenting Stelios Hadjicosta in concert. The songwriter will present his personal work, a total of ten songs created during the last ten years. He will be accompanied on stage by Chrysostomos Kelis at the guitars and the bouzouki. The music will be matched by the projection of live animation by Charalambos Margaritis. The concert will take place at Attikon, on Friday, 3rd of November 2017, at 8pm.
The entrance is free.

The Animattikon Project presents the screening of the films of its official guests. A programming of 20 short animated films from Cyprus and abroad, specially invited for the first day of the official Animattikon Project screenings.

Προβολή των ταινιών της επίσημης επιλογής
Το The Animattikon Project παρουσιάζει την επίσημη επιλογή ταινιών animation μικρού μήκους στο Αττικόν, το Σάββατο, 4 Νοεμβρίου, ώρα 8μμ. Το πρόγραμμα περιλαμβάνει 35 ταινίες από όλο τον κόσμο και διαρκεί περίπου 3 ώρες. Οι ταινίες που έχουν διαλόγους είναι υποτιτλισμένες στα αγγλικά.
The Animattikon Project presents its official selection of animated short films, on Saturday the 4th of November at the Attikon, at 8pm. The program includes 35 films from all over the world and lasts approximatively 4 hours. The films that contain dialogues are subtitled in English.

Επί τη ευκαιρία της συμπλήρωσης των δέκα χρόνων του μεγαλύτερου φεστιβάλ animation στην Ελλάδα και ενός από τα σημαντικότερα στην Ευρώπη, ο συνιδρυτής και πρόεδρός του, Βασίλης Καραμητσάνης, θα μας παρουσιάσει την ιστορία του Animasyros, την Κυριακή, 5 Νοεμβρίου 2017, ώρα 7μμ, στο Αττικόν, πριν την προβολή του προγράμματος Εvrόpi: 28 animation narratives for Europe, που προβλήθηκε στη δέκατη διοργάνωση του φεστιβάλ τον περασμένο Σεπτέμβριο.
The Animasyros International Animation Festival + Agora visits Pafos for a second time in the framework of the Animattikon Project. Το The Animattikon Project παρουσιάζει, στις 5 Νοεμβρίου 2017, στο Αττικόν, το πρόγραμμα του Animasyros Διεθνές Φεστιβάλ + Αγορά Κινουμένων Σχεδίων με τίτλο Evrόpi: 28 animation narratives for Europe.
Πρόκειται για ένα σχέδιο που παρουσίασαν η αντιπροσωπεία της Ευρωπαϊκής Επιτροπής στην Ελλάδα και το Animasyros Διεθνές Φεστιβάλ + Αγορά Κινουμένων Σχεδίων, με τη συνεργασία του Γραφείου του Ευρωπαϊκού Κοινοβουλίου στην Αθήνα. Είναι ένα πρόγραμμα αφιερωμένο στο νέο αφήγημα της τέχνης της εμψύχωσης (animation) στην Ευρώπη. Το αφιέρωμα θα αποτέλεσε τη θεματική προτεραιότητα της δέκατης, επετειακής, έκδοσης του Animasyros που πραγματοποιήθηκε στις 27 Σεπτεμβρίου - 1 Οκτωβρίου 2017, στη Σύρο.
28 αντιπροσωπευτικές μικρού μήκους ταινίες κινουμένων σχεδίων, μία από καθένα από τα 28 κράτη μέλη της Ευρωπαϊκής Ένωσης, φιλοδοξούν να αποτυπώσουν τη σύγχρονη κατάσταση της βιομηχανίας των κινουμένων σχεδίων σε ευρωπαϊκό επίπεδο, αλλά και να συνεισφέρουν την αυθεντική ερμηνεία κάθε χώρας στο μελλοντικό αφήγημα της Ευρώπης, του κοινού μας σπιτιού που αλλάζει ραγδαία.
Επιλογή των ταινιών προβλήθηκε και στην επίσημη παρουσίαση του Animasyros 10.0 στις 25 Σεπτεμβρίου 2017 στη Στέγη του Ιδρύματος Ωνάση, στην Αθήνα.
The Animattikon Project presents, on the 5th of November 2017, at the Attikon, the program of the Animasyros International Animation Festival + Agora, with the title Evrόpi: 28 animation narratives for Europe.
This is a project by the representation of the european Commission in Greece and Animasyros International Animation Festival + Agora, with the collaboration
of the European Parliament Information Office in Greece. It is a program devoted to the new animation narrative in Europe. The tribute was the thematic priority of the tenth anniversary edition of Animasyros, which was held on September 27 - October 1 in Syros.
28 representative short animated films, one from each of EU 28 Member States, aspire to depict the current state of affairs in the European Animation Industry and act as the authentic interpretation of each country within the future narrative of Europe, our common home that changes rapidly.
A selection of the films was also screened at Animasyros 10.0 official presentation event on September 25, 2017 in Stegi- Onassis Cultural Centre, Athens.

Screening: "Quirino Cristiani: The mystery of the first animated movies"

On the 9th of November 1917, the first full length animated film was released in the cinemas of Argentina. It was made by the Italian animator Quirino Cristiani and it beared the title “El Apostol”. The man and his work remained practically unknown for many years. Film historian and specialist in the history of animation Giannalberto Bendazzi shed light on his story with his book “The Man who Foreran Disney”. Based on this book, Italian animator Gabriele Zucchelli, directs the film " Quirino Cristiani - The Mystery of the First Animated Movies " presenting the life of this great pioneer and making him known to the public.
Honoring the 100-year anniversary of the release of the first full-length animated film in history, The Animattikon Project organizes a screening of Zucchelli’s film at ANANAs 8Bit Coffee, on Thursday, 9th of November 2017 at 8pm. The film was generously offered by Gabriele Zucchelli himself and his company The Caravel Animation.
After the screening of the documentary, the ten minute animated film "El mono relojero" (1938) by Quirino Cristiani will be projected. This is one of the only films of Cristiani that survived until today.
Στις 9 Νοεμβρίου του 1917, η πρώτη μεγάλου μήκους ταινία κινουμένων σχεδίων κυκλοφόρησε για πρώτη φορά στους κινηματογράφους της Αργεντινής. Δημιουργός της ο Quirino Cristiani και τίτλος της “El Apostol”. Ο άνθρωπος και το έργο του έμειναν για πολύ καιρό πρακτικά άγνωστα στο ευρύ κοινό. Ο ιστορικός κινηματογράφου και ειδικός στην ιστορία του animation Giannalberto Bendazzi έριξε φως στην ιστορία αυτή στο βιβλίο του “Ο άνθρωπος που πρόλαβε τον Ντίσνεϋ”. Βασισμένος στο βιβλίο αυτό, ο Ιταλός animator Gabriele Zucchelli σκηνοθετεί την ταινία “Quirino Cristiani / Το μυστήριο πίσω από τις πρώτες ταινίες animation” παρουσιάζοντας τη ζωή αυτού του μεγάλου πιονιέρου και καθιστώντας τον γνωστό στο ευρύ κοινό.
Τιμώντας την επέτειο των 100 χρόνων από την κυκλοφορία της πρώτης ταινίας animation μεγάλου μήκους στην ιστορία του κινηματογράφου, το The Animattikon Project οργανώνει μια προβολή της ταινίας του Zucchelli στο καφέ Ananas 8bit Coffee, την Πέμπτη, 9 Νοεμβρίου 2017, ώρα 8μμ. Η ταινία παραχωρήθηκε γενναιόδωρα από τον ίδιο τον Gabriele Zucchelli και την εταιρεία του, The Caravel Animation.
Μετά από την προβολή του ντοκιμαντέρ, θα προβληθεί και η δεκάλεπτη ταινία "El mono relojero" (1938) του Quirino Cristiani, μια από τις μόνες ταινίες του που επεβίωσε ακέραιη μέχρι σήμερα.

Screen-printing Workshop
Kimonos Printmaking Studio organizes a printmaking workshop open for ages 16+ . Print your own illustrations, photographs, christmas cards and t-shirt BY HAND with the traditional technique of Silk-Screen. The workshop is broken down in two parts. A full day image preperation session on the 27th of December whre there will be an introduction to the medium. You can bring your images or draw on the spot and enjoy refreshments and nibles at the lovely enviroment of Kimonos Art center. On December 29th will be the printing session.
